Brief Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Paro to Thimphu
Arrive in Paro and drive to Thimphu (about 1 hour). Visit key landmarks like Buddha Dordenma, Memorial Chorten, and explore the local market.
Day 2: Thimphu to Punakha
Drive over Dochula Pass (3,100m) with stunning Himalayan views. Visit Punakha Dzong and enjoy a peaceful walk along the rivers.
Day 3: Punakha to Bumthang
A long scenic drive through central Bhutan. Pass forests and traditional villages before reaching Bumthang, the spiritual heartland.
Day 4: Bumthang to Chokhor Valley
Begin your trek. Walk through farmlands and monasteries, visiting Jakar Dzong and Kurje Lhakhang.
Day 5: Chokhor to Chokmey
Trek gradually through forests and small settlements. Enjoy peaceful landscapes and interaction with locals.
Day 6: Chokmey to Tshampa
Continue ascending through alpine meadows and yak pastures. Campsite offers beautiful mountain surroundings.
Day 7: Tshampa to Petsho
A more challenging trek day. Reach Petsho Lake area, known for its remote beauty and tranquil atmosphere.
Day 8: Petsho to Base Camp
Climb higher toward the base camp of Gangkar Puensum, Bhutan’s highest peak.
Day 9: Base Camp (Rest Day)
Acclimatization day. Explore the surroundings, rest, and enjoy views of pristine landscapes.
Day 10: Base Camp to Tshampa
Begin descent along the same trail. Enjoy different perspectives of the valleys.
Day 11: Tshampa to Chokhor
Trek back through familiar terrain with easier downhill walking.
Day 12: Chokhor to Bumthang
End trek and return to Bumthang. Relax and visit local temples or markets.
Day 13: Bumthang to Paro
Drive or take a domestic flight back to Paro. Evening free for rest or sightseeing.
Day 14: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
Hike to Bhutan’s iconic monastery perched on a cliff. A highlight of the trip with stunning views.
Day 15: Departure
Transfer to Paro International Airport for departure.
