Brief Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Paro to Thimphu
Arrive in Paro and drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. The journey follows a scenic river valley and takes about 1–1.5 hours. Spend the day exploring the city and adjusting to the altitude.
Day 2: Thimphu (Hike to Dodedra)
Enjoy a full day in Thimphu. Take a hike to Dodedra Monastery, a peaceful retreat located above the city. The trail passes through forests and offers beautiful views. Return to Thimphu for the night.
Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha
Drive from Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula Pass, known for its panoramic mountain views. You can choose to hike down to Thinleygang village or hike up to Lhuenchitse Lhakhang. Continue to Punakha and stay overnight.
Day 4: Punakha (Sightseeing)
Visit Chimi Lhakhang, the famous fertility temple, followed by a visit to Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most impressive fortresses, located at the confluence of two rivers.
Day 5: Punakha to Phobjikha Valley
Drive to the scenic Phobjikha Valley, home to black-necked cranes (in season). Hike down to Gangtey Monastery and enjoy the tranquil natural surroundings.
Day 6: Phobjikha to Bumthang
Travel to Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. Attend the Jambay Lhakhang Festival, a vibrant cultural event with traditional dances and rituals.
Day 7: Bumthang (Festival)
Spend another day in Bumthang enjoying the festival celebrations, exploring temples, and experiencing local culture.
Day 8: Bumthang (Festival)
Continue attending the festival and visit nearby monasteries and villages.
Day 9: Bumthang to Paro
Travel back to Paro, either by flight or long drive, depending on your arrangement.
Day 10: Paro (Tiger’s Nest Hike)
Hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang), perched on a cliffside. This is one of Bhutan’s most famous and rewarding hikes.
Day 11: Departure
Transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure.
